How big is the cinema screen?
We have 2 different size screens. There is the 2.5 metre (100") screen, or the 3.5 metre (140") screen size.

How much space do we need to allow for in the backyard?
For the screen, speakers and projector, 4.5 metres width by 5 metres depth is enough to accommodate the equipment. The projector will sit 4-5 metres away from the screen. Your guests may sit to the sides of the projector so they can get up close, or behind, or both! So please allow room for seating in addition to this.
How far away from the house can the Backyard Cinema be setup?
This is a great question. You're only limited by Wifi signal (if required) and the length of an extension cord from the nearest powerpoint. Our crew will always bring a 25 metre extension cord with them.
If you plan to utilise your WiFi to stream content, please test and check that you have a good WiFi signal in the area to be used.

How do we get a movie to watch?
You decide what movie or content you want to watch.
We don't supply movies, but you can use a DVD or Blu Ray disc that you have with your DVD player our ours.
You can use your favourite streaming apps from the supplied Apple TV (if WiFi is available in your backyard).
Why not stream YouTube Music & use our big screen + sound system as your DJ?
Our projectors even have USB ports for plugging a USB stick directly into, or you can connect any device that has HDMI directly. This could be a laptop or even a gaming console for the kids (big or small!)

Do we need a license to watch a movie?
No, if you're holding a private event at your place where the content will be viewed by your personal guests, there are no licensing requirements, providing you own/rent the content, or subscribe to a streaming service from which the content is being played.

Where will our guests sit?
Anywhere you like! Some great ideas are picnic rugs, camp chairs, or your patio chairs.
How many guests can we have?
It's totally flexible, but anywhere from two people to seventy people would be able to clearly see & hear our big screen + sound system. (Just make sure you can fit everyone into your yard safely!)

The Boring Stuff...

DELIVERY & PICKUP TIMES: On the date of your booking, we will deliver & setup your backyard cinema between midday - 5.30pm
(this time window may vary slightly depending on the season)
On the day following your event, we will collect the backyard cinema equipment between 10.00am - 5.30pm
Our crew will contact you when they are on their way to your place. Should these times be unsuitable, please note this below, & we will contact you to arrange a suitable time.
PAYMENT: You will be asked to pay a $75 deposit at the time of booking, which secures your booking. The balance will need to paid via Visa/Mastercard or Cash to our staff upon delivery.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS: Any cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to date of event to receive a deposit refund. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are not eligible for a deposit refund, however your booking may be rescheduled to another date at no additional charge. Cancellations made due to weather events may be rescheduled to another date at no additional charge.
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT: All equipment may be inspected at time of delivery by you for any damage. Should any of our cinema equipment be damaged during your hire period, we will invoice you for the repair/replacement cost or the insurance excess for our claim (whichever is the lower amount). You will not be held responsible for damage incurred due to unforeseen weather events.
EQUIPMENT CARE: Our crew will complete a short orientation of the equipment with you, and we ask that at the conclusion of your event, all electrical equipment inc projector, speakers and cables are brought inside & secured overnight to protect the equipment from moisture. Should any wet weather be imminent during your event, you accept responsibility to bring the same equipment undercover to avoid damage.
